Theater Shows & Broadway Hits
I’m always amazed at the level of theater productions Denver attracts each year. No need to go to New York, as you can see all of the top Broadway shows here!
The theater is one of the best Denver entertainment options since you can see large and small productions. Broadway shows that have played here include The Lion King, Disney’s The Beauty and the Beast, and Finding Neverland.
There are shows all year long, so check out my theater calendar for a list of performances during your stay.

More Performing Arts
In addition to the theater, you can enjoy Denver entertainment by the Colorado Ballet, the Colorado Symphony, and Opera Colorado.
The Colorado Ballet offers four to five performances each year. Their season starts in September and runs through April. Their most popular performance, The Nutcracker, starts in late November and runs through late December. Find out more about the Colorado Ballet here.
The Colorado Symphony performs from September to May. They also have several summer performances each year. Their shows include everything from movie scores to the classics such as Beethoven and Bach. Click here for this year’s schedule.
Opera Colorado has three to four performances a year. In addition to their annual shows, you can attend one of their opening night dinners or enjoy their Fall Gala. Click here to learn more about the Opera in Denver.
Sporting Events
Denver is home to seven major sporting teams. The top four include the Denver Broncos (football), the Colorado Rockies (baseball), the Colorado Avalanche (hockey), and the Denver Nuggets (basketball).
In addition, Denver is also home to the Colorado Rapids (soccer), the Denver Outlaws (outdoor lacrosse), and the Colorado Mammoth (indoor lacrosse).
Since we have so many teams, you will find this Denver entertainment option all year. During most months, you will find that at least two or three teams will be in action at home.

Denver Comedy Shows, Improv, and Comedians
Another popular form of Denver entertainment is laughing all night long at one of the local comedy shows. In addition to shows, the city also brings in a variety of well-known comedians.
You will find a show almost every night. Most are at the local comedy clubs all around town. Some of the biggest comedians also play at places such as the Pepsi Center or the Paramount Theater.

Denver Breweries: Tours & Sampling
Your Denver entertainment schedule should also include a stop at some of the city’s best breweries. The Mile High City’s beer scene is so exciting that it’s been dubbed “the Napa Valley of beer.”
You can step inside for a nice cold brew any day of the week at many of the breweries. Several also offer tours where you can take a closer look at how they produce their beers.
In addition, many tour companies are getting into the game and offering brewery tours. On these tours, you will stop by several breweries in one day to sample their locally-made brews and take a step inside their production facilities. You will also get to meet some of the brewmasters making these tasty creations.
